Bonjour à tous,
Notre monde a changé radicalement depuis les 2 dernières années. Que ce soit pour trouver de la main-d’œuvre ou simplement pour engager des entrepreneurs de qualité, cela est devenu très difficile. Malgré ces défis, nous aurons beaucoup d’action au cours des prochains mois.
Tout d’abord, c’est avec plaisir que je peux maintenant annoncer que nous avons pourvu tous nos postes permanents à l’hôtel de ville avec l’arrivée de notre Coordonnatrice aux loisirs et aux communications, madame Elizabeth Wainwright. Vous remarquerez sans doute que nous avons plusieurs postes étudiants à combler pour l’été 2022 sur notre site Internet. Bien que nous recrutions des moniteurs pour notre camp de jour, nous regardons également pour trouver d’autres ressources, notamment pour aider au niveau des travaux liés au département d’urbanisme. Comme plusieurs autres municipalités, nous recevons très peu de candidatures. J’invite les citoyens à partager l’information à leur réseau.
Du côté de la voirie, nous aurons plusieurs entrepreneurs qui sillonneront nos rues au cours des prochaines semaines. Que ce soit pour des fins d’évaluations ou pour des réparations diverses, tout le monde est l’œuvre pour le printemps. Voici donc ce que nous avons sur la table comme planification: asphalter les nids de poule et obturer les réparations de l’hiver; réparer nos bornes fontaines défectueuses; évaluer les améliorations nécessaires de nos fossés; obtenir un rapport sur l’optimisation de la sécurité routière; évaluation de nos infrastructures (auscultations, étude, etc.) afin d’investir stratégiquement les montants admissibles du programme TECQ*. Nous avons aussi mandaté une firme d’architectes afin de nous fournir un rapport sur l’état de nos bâtiments. Cette étude nous permettra de planifier les améliorations nécessaires pour assurer la pérennité de nos bâtiments et nous permettra de nous outiller convenablement pour les prochaines demandes de subventions telles que PRABAM* ou PRACIM*. En résumé, notre équipe administrative sera très occupée cet été.
Malgré tous les travaux qui nous incombent, avec le beau temps qui revient, je trouve fort agréable de constater que notre parc reprend vie de façon surprenante avec beaucoup de citoyens qui viennent profiter de nos installations. En fait, ce n’est pas une surprise après avoir été reclus pendant plus de 2 ans. Et notre conseil, avec l’aide de notre coordonnatrice aux loisirs, compte bien redonner à nos concitoyens pleins de bonnes raisons pour célébrer ce retour à la vie avec un programme diversifié et de qualité.
Voici un aperçu des événements à venir:
· Nettoyage des descentes au lac, le 21 mai;
· Clinique de don de sang, le 14 juin;
· Début du camp de jour pour nos jeunes le 27 juin;
· Une programmation musicale, débutant le 30 juin, pour 6 semaines, tous les jeudis soir (voici un aperçu).
o Le Preville Big Band un groupe festif de cuivres
o Cinéma muet accompagné au piano,
o Mathéo révélation musique du Monde Radio-Canada 2021
· Samedi27 août, la fête de la famille. Nous aurons alors un groupe disco pour nous faire danser en soirée et des activités pour toute la famille durant l’après-midi.
· En terminant, nous sommes sur le point de finaliser l’impression de notre livre du centenaire et nous organiserons un événement pour en faire le lancement.
La programmation complète sera disponible sous peu via notre site Internet, notre page Facebook et dans nos maisonnettes à l’entrée de la municipalité.
En terminant, comme vous le voyez, votre conseil, l’administration et tous ses employés ont à cœur notre municipalité. Toutes les semaines, on me rappelle la chance que nous avons de demeurer dans un village d’une rare beauté où il y fait bon vivre. Nous en ferons la démonstration cet été tous ensemble!

*Brèves descriptions des subventions
· La « TECQ » est une subvention issue de la taxe sur l’essence, afin nous aider à l’amélioration continue de notre réseau routier.
· Le « PRABAM » est une subvention aux municipalités de 5 000 habitants et moins permettant de réaliser rapidement des travaux sur les bâtiments municipaux;
· Le programme « PRACIM » pour améliorer ou mettre à niveau les bâtiments municipaux comme les casernes de pompiers, les hôtels de ville, les garages et les centres communautaires.

Hello everyone,
Our world has changed dramatically over the past 2 years. Whether it is to find employees or simply to hire qualified contractors, it has become very difficult. Despite these challenges, we have managed to meet many of them and so you will see activity in our community during the next few months.
First of all, it is with pleasure that I can now announce that we have filled all of our permanent positions at City Hall with the arrival of our Recreation and Communications Coordinator, Ms. Elizabeth Wainwright. You will also notice that we have several student positions to fill for the summer of 2022 on our website. Although we are recruiting monitors for our day camp, we are also looking to find other resources, to help with work related to the Urban Planning Department. Like many other municipalities, we are not receiving many applications. I therefore invite you to share the job postings with your networks.
Concerning our roads, we will have several entrepreneurs who will be on our streets over the next few weeks. Whether for evaluation purposes or for various repairs, everyone will be hard at work during the spring. So here is what we have planned: paving the potholes and sealing the winter repairs; repair our faulty fire hydrants; evaluate the necessary improvements to our ditches; obtain a report on the optimization of road safety; evaluation of our infrastructure(auscultation, study, etc.) to strategically invest the TECQ* program eligible amounts. We also commissioned an architectural firm to provide us with a report on the condition of our buildings. This study will allow us to plan the improvements necessary to ensure the sustainability of our buildings and will allow us to be properly equipped for future grant applications such as PRABAM*or PRACIM*. In summary, our administrative team will be very busy this spring and summer.
Despite all the work that is incumbent on us, with the good weather returning, I am pleased to see that our park is coming back to life, with our citizens enjoying the facilities that our municipality has to offer, after 2 years of restrictions. Our municipal council, with the help of our new Recreation and Communications Coordinator, intends to give back to our fellow citizens, with a diversified and quality program of events to celebrate this return to life.

• Blood Donation Clinic, June 14;
• Beginning of the youth day camp on June 27;
• A musical program, starting June 30, for 6 weeks, every Thursday evening (more to come).

• Saturday27 August, Family Day. We will then have a disco group so that we can dance in the evening and activities for the whole family during the afternoon.
• Finally, we are about to finalize the printing of our centennial book and we will organize an event to launch it.

In closing, as you can see, your council, the administration and all of its employees have our municipality at heart. Every week, I am reminded of how lucky we are to live in a village of rare beauty where life is good. We will demonstrate it this summer all together!

*Briefdescriptions of grants
• The "TECQ" is a subsidy from the gas tax, to help us with the continuous improvement of our road network.
• The “PRABAM” is a subsidy for municipalities of 5,000 inhabitants or less allowing work to be carried out quickly on municipal buildings;
• The “PRACIM” program to improve or upgrade municipal buildings such as fire stations, town halls, garages and community centres.
